Adult Chihuahuas for Adoption
Occasionally I will have a beautiful and loving adult male or female Chihuahua, who is ready to be your friend and companion. They may already be trained to show and you can keep showing them, or they may have been breeder quality and are retired. They will appreciate getting the extra attention all for themselves, and will give you many years of love and devotion. They will have had all shots and health care up to date.
Below is beautiful little "Tammy"- Dogwood-Lane Itsy Bitsy Sassy One LC. I have been showing her and she enjoys it and does quite well. She was born Oct 11, 2014. I am offering her for sale because she is too small to breed at just a little bit over 3 #. Some people do breed tiny ones to get extra tiny ones but I don't like to take the chance with their health. But if I am going to show a puppy, and because I go to only a few shows, if I do get a Champion I want to be able to have him or her continue and better the breed. Below is Dexter's Tonti of Dogwood-Lane, one of my last puppies out of Dexter and Quanita.He was born Jan 24, 2015. I was keeping him for show, but tho as a pup he had a level bite, as he got older he developed an underbite so I didn't show him. He has 10 Champions on his fathers side. He was a rather unusual puppy in that when I picked him up in a show position with hands under front and rear, he would constantly paddle all 4 feet very methodically and evenly as if he was swimming in water, not fast or frantically, but just as if he were in a big pond in instead of held in the air! He was the first to ever do this in 20 years of raising Chihuahuas!!
Tonti has almost a human look to his eyes as he gazes at you. He is smart, very energetic, active and hardy. He is gentle and cheerful with people but likes to chase cats and squirrels and would not get along with other male dogs. He has good bone and substance but does not have a flowing gait which I prefer in a show dog and he has injured a knee at some time so sometimes limps and cant be shown. He would make someone a cheerful and loving companion and watch dog as he is very alert to what's going on.. He should be neutered as he very much likes the girls. Tonti was born Jan 25, 2015. Shown below is Dogwood-Lane's Dark Star Dancin Twila. She is being retired after having some very nice puppies. She was born Sept 17, 2015. She is sweet natured and agreeable, but a bit shy of strangers. She would make a loving companion for an older person as she is not used to children. She gets along with other dogs but would like to be the top dog if she could! She is very smart and can be playful when she knows you. Her adoption fee is $600 as a sweet companion. (Available)
